What are irbesartan tablets? IRBESARTAN (Avapro®) helps lower blood pressure to normal levels. It controls high blood pressure, but it is not a cure. High blood pressure can damage your kidneys, and may lead to a stroke or heart failure. Irbesartan helps prevent these things from happening. Generic irbesartan tablets are not yet available.
If OVERDOSE is suspected: Call 1-800-222-1222 to the American Association of Poison Control Centers, your local poison control center ( http://www.aapcc.org/findyour.htm ), or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include dizziness; rapid heart beat; low blood pressure; slow heart beat. Proper storage of Irbesartan (Avapro) : Store at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C), in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep Irbesartan (Avapro) out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Overdosage There has been little experience with overdosage of drugs such as Avapro. However, the most likely results would be low blood pressure and an abnormally slow or rapid heartbeat. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby.
