Why is Decadron Tablets prescribed? Decadron, a corticosteroid drug, is used to reduce inflammation and relieve symptoms in a variety of disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis and severe cases of asthma. It may be given to people to treat primary or secondary adrenal cortex insufficiency (lack of sufficient adrenal hormone). It is also given to help treat the following disorders:

What are dexamethasone tablets?
DEXAMETHASONE (Decadron (Dexamethasone) ® , Hexadrol ® , Dexone ® ) is a corticosteroid. It helps to reduce swelling, itching, redness, and allergic reactions. Dexamethasone is similar to natural steroid hormone produced by the adrenal gland. Dexamethasone treats severe allergies, skin problems, asthma, arthritis and other conditions. Overdosage Reports of overdose with this medication are rare. However, if you suspect an overdose, seek medical treatment immediately.
What happens if I overdose? Seek emergency medical attention. A single large dose of this medication is unlikely to cause symptoms or death.
