What is Lioresal (baclofen)?

Baclofen is a muscle relaxer and an antispastic agent.

Baclofen is used to treat muscle symptoms caused by multiple sclerosis, including spasm, pain, and stiffness.

Baclofen may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Before using Lioresal (Baclofen) :

Some medical conditions may interact with Lioresal (Baclofen) . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

If you suffer from nerve damage, planning to become pregnant, or dietary supplement
• if you are pregnant, herbal preparation, or other substances
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, foods, or have had a stroke
• if you have kidney problems or kidney failure
• if you have allergies to medicines, bizarre behavior, or are breast-feeding
• If you have an infection or very high blood pressure associated with a spinal injury

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Lioresal (Baclofen) . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

• Epidural morphine because shortness of breath and a significant decrease in blood pressure may occur

What other drugs will affect Lioresal (baclofen)?

There may be other drugs that can affect baclofen. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, herbal products, minerals, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at your next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

How to use Lioresal (Baclofen) :

Use Lioresal (Baclofen) as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Lioresal (Baclofen) is usually administered into the spinal canal through an implantable infusion pump.
• Lioresal is usually given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic.
• Do not use Lioresal (Baclofen) if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
• Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Ask your health care provider how to dispose of these materials after use. Follow all local rules for disposal.
• If you miss a dose of Lioresal , contact your doctor right away.
