What is tretinoin? Tretinoin is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and spread in the body. Tretinoin is used to treat acute promyelocytic leukemia (a type of blood cancer). Tretinoin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
Side effects Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Possible food and drug interactions when taking Retin-A and Renova If these medications are used with certain other drugs, decreased, the effects of either could be increased, or altered. Do not use Renova if you are taking other drugs that increase sensitivity to sunlight. These include: Certain antibiotics, Noroxin, including Cipro, and tetracycline Major tranquilizers such as Thorazine and Mellaril Sulfa drugs such as Bactrim and Septra Thiazide drugs (water pills) such as Diuril and HydroDIURIL Caution should be exercised when using Avita, Retin-A, or Renova in combination with other topical medications, medicated or abrasive soaps and cleansers, soaps and cosmetics that have a strong drying effect, products with high concentrations of alcohol, astringents, spices, or lime (especially the peel), permanent wave solutions, electrolysis, hair depilatories or waxes, or other preparations that may dry or irritate the skin.

Store the liquid and gel at room temperature below 30 degrees C (86 degrees F), and the cream below 27 degrees F (80 degrees F); do not freeze. Keep away from heat and flame. Protect from light.
